Fun with Step-down converter

Today's fun project is a secured circuit with bridge rectifier and a adjustable step-down converter.
Fun test was charging a phone with a 9V battery. Works 😊.

In Christmas mood today

Wow, that is a rare incident.
But with all the snow and so on... I think I'll listening now to the Sailor Moon Christmas song collection.
Have a nice Sunday everyone.

Reactivated my binary wristwatch

Just for nostalgic reasons. It's still really tempting to me. Decimal time is just an illusion :).
Binary ftw!

Playing "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy"

It took some time, but now I continue the Uncharted series. Too bad the main character is missing, but the selection of protagonists is great and brings you right in the game as a fan.

Bought a new Multimeter this morning

Can't wait for it to arrive.
Including measuring up to 20 A (yay!) and temperature sensor besides touchless wire check, diode check, frequency measuring and so much more. Heck, even a flashlight is integrated.
Most needed: Checking connectivity of wires and boards. You'll really need that if you deal with retro-stuff :).

Watching "In another world with my smartphone"

That had to happen. Sounds like an awesome anime.
My home is where my smartphone is 🙂📱📶

Reusing my old router as a switch

I needed a 2nd Gigabit Switch. The prices bugged me, so I got an idea.
My old TP-Link router has gigabit ports, so I reconfigured it for working as a switch. Turned off WiFi and any router service. Works nicely.

For the money left, I bought a TP-Link power plug which can be controlled with Google home over WiFi. Yay. "Okay Google, make it warm" 😊

New Setup for the Netcasts

Yupp, that's right. Pixel XL is overtaking audio and video production. Much more features, and much quicker encoding.
It's time for the switch.

Got this retro stuff recently

There are 2 UMDs. A movie and a game for the PSP. I didn't know if that is qualified as being retro, but it sure was a crazy media format to distribute stuff. Weird.
I got some original Gameboy cartridges, and a GBC game that seems to be defective. But I will open the cartridge and see if I can repair it.

The NES module couldn't be tested, but it is in good condition from outside.
A bunch of PS 1 memory cards and V-Rally rounds this loot up😉.

Updating KDE Neon

That was really necessary. Over 700 packages updated. I already see I have to do a distupgrade after that.

Update: KDE Neon 5.11.0 runs like a charm.
