It's on... Back to the Future 2 day and it's kind of a sad date

Some remarkable, but now pretty sad date is today.
At October 21st 2015 Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrived in the future, which is well, today :).
Sad thing is, we didn't manage to achieve the visions of the movie makers in 1985. No Hoverboards (well, it does exists as a prototype from Lexus, but not as a thing you can buy in a store), no holograms outside movie theaters :), no self-tying shoes, and the worst, no fusion reactors that burns garbage for our cars. Instead we are still driving ridiculously fossil-fuel burning, stinking cans that can't even fly.

I don't know, but I have the feeling that we could be even more advanced in tech, if we wouldn't spend so much money for profane crap. At some point it seems that the economy itself hinders the technical evolution and therefore new ways for earning money, by driving up the costs to make more money. Interesting paradox, isn't it?
And that is where the circle closes. Paradoxes we have enough in this awesome movie, and in the present reality. Before my head explodes I'll just watch Back to the Future 2 today, and thinking it is real :D
